No Compromise on Stopping Global Warming
Save the Planet is currently conducting four types of campaigns:
- public education campaigns
- election campaigns
- campaigns to get political parties and NGOs to adopt climate emergency policy
- climate emergency plan campaigns
Public Education Campaigns
Sadly, the vast majority of people think that either Global Warming doesn't exist – or if it does, it can be solved with a simple carbon tax or trading system.
Another much smaller group understands we should make some changes but don't understand the true threat we face or the extent of the changes we need to make.
Another very small group of people understands how serious the problem is and what we need to do to stop it, but refuse to say this publicly because of their own pessimism or misunderstanding of social change.
Then there are people like us, people who understand both the threat and the solutions and are willing to voice this.
Hence our campaign, at its most basic level, is educating people about global warming and its solutions, countering both the denialist messages and the messages of politicians and the environment movement who state we can deal with global warming by minimalist responses.
The possibilities for education campaigns are almost endless. At Save the Planet we use a combination of leafleting, door-knocking, postering, stickering, social media, public speaking, speaking at and helping organise climate conferences and obtaining exposure during elections to help educate the public.
Save the Planet has a range of specific campaigns to get the message out there about saving us from a Climate Catastrophe:

Save the Planet has a range of specific campaigns to get the message out there about saving us from a Climate Catastrophe:
- our election campaigns are our largest and most complex public education campaigns
- our public speaking campaign seeks to engage members of the public at conferences, in their community group or at home
- our merchandise campaign allows people to get the message out there while having a cup of tea at work or walking down the street
- our meme, poster, email, flier and social media campaigns get the message out on the street, at work, in your front yard and on the web
Election Campaigns
Save the Planet is running candidates at all levels of government to achieve three basic goals:
1. To educate the public about the threat of Global Warming and the solutions
2. To provide political leadership by calling for the solutions that give us the best chance of avoiding a Climate Catastrophe
3. To wins seats and force the implementation of a policy that will restore a Safe Climate
Save the Planet candidates have run in elections since 2013 as a formal organisation and since 2012 informally.
See our election pages for more information.

Campaigns to get political parties and NGOs to adopt climate emergency policy
Save the Planet uses a variety of means including leading by example, direct discussions, lobbying, speaking a conferences, networking and preference negotiations; working towards getting other political parties and NGOs to adopt Safe Climate policy.
Our greatest successes to date have been success in influencing the Safe Climate polices of the Sex Party and Animal Justice Party, while our greatest failure has been an inability to influence The Australian Greens to adopt a Safe Climate policy.
