"National security officials worried by rapid loss of Arctic summer sea ice overlook threat of permanent global food shortages"
A recent article in the Guardian by Dr. Nafeez Mosaddeq Ahmed discusses some of the serious issues we face around climate change.

"Senior US government officials are to be briefed at the White House this week on the danger of an ice-free Arctic in the summer within two years."

Save the Planet recently got our first external review on the Parents for Climate Safety's blog. http://climatesafety.info/?p=2325

The article was written after the author saw me speak at the Strategies for Sustainability Conference hosted by Doing it Ourselves in late April.

Very positive piece and good read so please take a look.

Well we have begun, 200 members, 40 friends, with numbers growing each day.

Save the Planet is the third major campaign I have helped start from scratch.

The others were the Otway Ranges Environment Network, which was a successful forest campaign to create the Great Otway National Park in Victoria run in the 90's and early 2000s, and Beyond Zero Emissions, a great research and education group focused on solutions for the emergency transition to a safe climate.

From my past experience the first 2-3 years are the hardest but after that time if you have positioned your group in a leadership position and are doing good work in public, support starts to grow particularly in the form of major donations.

The response so far has been very inspiring. Thanks to everyone who has joined and the people who have put up their hand to be candidates.

Best wishes and thanks,
Adrian Whitehead
